Thanks for supporting Alzheimer’s walk event

Kenneth C. Zaentz, CFRE, president and CEO, Alzheimer’s Association
I would like to thank all of the Middlesex, Mercer, Hunterdon and Somerset county area residents who supported our Alzheimer’s Association® Central Regional Walk to End Alzheimer’s® event on Oct. 12 at ETS in Princeton.
Over 2,000 community residents participated to raise awareness about the impact of Alzheimer’s disease and to raise funds to support Alzheimer’s Association care, support and research programs. Walk is held in more than 600 communities nationwide.
Currently, over half a million people in New Jersey are living with Alzheimer’s disease or are caring for someone with dementia, and that number is expected to increase dramatically by 2025. Alzheimer’s disease is the sixth leading cause of death in the United States.
We were so pleased to be able to hold the event at ETS in Princeton again this year, and we appreciate all of the supportwe received from the staff of this community-minded company.
We especially want to acknowledge the support of ETS President and CEO Walt MacDonald, and Executive Director of IT Production Carol Bucca, who was our committee chair. We are deeply grateful for the support of our Walk Champion 103.5 KTU Radio Personality Paul "Cubby" Bryant, and our regional sponsors, Mathematica Policy Research, Merck and Springpoint Senior Living.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to the dedicated committee volunteers who work tirelessly throughout the year in planning the event: Junior Chair Samantha Buckenberger; Mary Ann Buteau; Denise Goldstein; Linda Grenis; Reese Hansen; Gretchen Mangone; Alyssa Miletti; Monica Morgan; Chris Slavicek; and Neil Wise.
We are united with the Middlesex, Mercer, Hunterdon and Somerset county areas in our vision to one day have "a world without Alzheimer’s disease."
We look forward to next year’s Walk.
