WEST AMWELL: PennEast pipeline is focus of open house

On Nov. 13, there will be a PennEast Pipeline open house at South Hunterdon Regional High School in West Amwell,
The session will run from 5:30-7:30 p.m. in the high school’s gymnasium (301 Mt. Airy-Harbourton Road, Lambertville).
This will be the only local opportunity to meet with PennEast in a forum like this. PennEast is holding three open houses in Pennsylvania, but only one in New Jersey.
The open house will be structured so individuals can meet one-on-one with PennEast representatives at various stations. Categories will include safety and operations, land, environment and engineering, pipeline construction and restoration.
PennEast has sent out letters of invitation to landowners in the path of the pipeline, according to a spokesman.
A representative from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) will answer questions. FERC is the government agency that will decide whether to grant a permit to PennEast to construct and operate the pipeline.
A group — Hopewell Township Citizens Against the PennEast Pipeline ( HTCAPP) has created a Hotline and encourage those with questions to use it: HTCAPP Hotline: 609-350-2220. There also are: HTCAPP email: [email protected]www.HTCAPP.org.
