Photographs by Kim Levin of the Alaskan landscape and those who call Alaska home will be on display at the Eastern Branch Library in Shrewsbury throughout November.
Levin, a photographer who specializes in pet portraiture, took the images on a recent trip to Alaska. She focused many of the photographs on what she calls the “state treasure” of Alaska: the huskies that run the grueling 1,049-mile Iditarod race every winter.
Levin, a Little Silver resident, will be present at a reception at the Eastern Branch Library at 6 p.m. Nov. 13. The library is located at 1001 Route 35 in Shrewsbury, and the exhibit is open daily through November during regular library hours.
Levin has published 19 books that have been published in eight languages, and her work has appeared in numerous publications. Her images have been licensed throughout the world, and her greeting card and gift line appears in stores throughout the U.S.
A passionate advocate of animal adoption, Levin has been donating her photography services to support the Monmouth County SPCA and local rescue organizations for many years. View her work at www.kimlevin.com.
