Kolodziej of Sayreville as Veteran of the Year at the school’s annual Veterans Day program Nov. 10. Kolodziej, who served as a staff sergeant in the 95th Infantry Division, has been recognized internationally for his bravery and military astuteness in a battle with German forces. He appeared on the History Channel’s “Shootout,” which depicted an October 1944 battle in Vezon, France.
