Voters sent a message in school referendum

Freehold Borough residents certainly made a statement by voting down the Sept. 30 referendum for additional funding for the Freehold Borough K-8 School District.

We do not feel it is our responsibility to pay for school overcrowding. If the schools are overcrowded, it seems apparent that Freehold Borough is and has been overcrowded for several years.

I have requested information on three occasions from the Board of Education, for which I have not received a response. Under the Freedom of Information Act, I have requested a listing — not by name, only by student “number,” along with addresses. This information would clearly provide the residences in Freehold Borough that are overcrowded.
