CHAPTER A
Our next monthly meeting is Thursday, Dec. 4, and our speaker will be Linda Rapacki from Ridewise, a source of sustainable travel alternatives in Somerset County.
We will be entertained by members of the Raritan Valley Chorus with holiday music and will lead a singalong.
The next Pizza & Movie is on Friday, Nov. 21, with "Singin’ in the Rain." RSVP by Nov. 19.
Trips & Programs
Button crafts has been postponed to a later date in the Senior Activity Room to create necklace, bracelet or jewelry box. Cost is $2 for cord, glue, boxes, direction and help. Participants provide the buttons.
Thurs., Nov. 20 — "Three Irish Tenors" at LiGreci’s Staaten Restaurant, Staten Island. $74 for members, $84 for guests. Departing 10 a.m. from Lowe’s parking lot.
Tues., Dec. 2 — Holiday party at Mother, Mary of God, Church from noon to 4 p.m. Music, dancing, prizes and food. $25 for members (refunded at event) and $35 for guests (no refund).
Wed., Dec. 3 — "Scrooge Unplugged" by Laugh Out Loud in Hazlet. $73 for members and $83 for non-members. Departing 10:30 a.m. from Lowe’s lot.
News & Notes
We have discontinued the monthly Atlantic City trips due to low interest. There will be no trip in November or thereafter.
The Monday morning knitters are looking for yarn. If anyone has unused yarn they could donate, they can give it to a member of either senior club or leave it in the Senior Activity Room.
Our members are invited to Chapter B Bingo for a great time. Next bingo will be Tuesday, Nov. 25.
All Hillsborough seniors age 60 and older are invited to join Chapter A. Younger spouses of seniors are also eligible for membership. Dues are $5 a year and new members may join at any meeting. Our membership chairman is Loretta Tansey at 908-359-1171.
Doors open at 11:30 a.m., allowing time to review upcoming events and make reservations. Refreshments are available at noon and after the meeting, too.
The rescue squad will be present at every regular meeting to check blood pressure. We encourage our members to go into the Senior Activity Room before the meeting and take advantage of this service.
Help our Food Bank by bringing an item to each meeting.Throughout the year, Lions Recycle for Sight volunteers clean, sort by prescription strength and package eyeglasses. They’re distributed to people where they will have the greatest impact. Lions accept prescription and reading glasses, sunglasses, children’s glasses and plastic and metal frames. There is a drop box for these eyeglasses in the lobby of the municipal building.Senior room activities:
Shuffleboard, the pool table and darts are available, along with the new ping pong table, to all Hillsborough seniors. The computer room is fully equipped for your use and enjoyment.

Tuesday: Bridge from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Tripoli at 12:30 and cards from 1 to 3:30 p.m.
Wednesday: Mah jongg from noon to 4 p.m.
Thursday: Bridge from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Pinochle from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.
Friday: Mah jongg from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

CHAPTER B
Our next monthly meeting is today, Thursday, Nov. 13. Doors will open at 10:45 a.m. so you can sign up for future trips and events listed below. It will be the last time you can pay $10 dues for 2015.
Reminder — Dec. 11 is the last meeting of the year and you must have attended five meetings during the year and paid your dues to maintain your membership.
Tickets for all special events will only be sold at monthly meetings. No tickets will be sold at the door.
The Nov. 13 meeting will be the last chance to buy tickets for the holiday party on Thursday, Dec. 11, at Mary, Mother of God Church. The regular meeting in December is canceled.

A special bingo has been added for Tuesday, Nov. 25. At this time, there is no bingo in December. Bingo will resume in January. Doors open at 11:30. Cost of $3 for one card or $5 for two cards, includes two hot dogs, chips, drink, dessert, prizes.
A two-night trip to Dover (Delaware) Downs Hotel and Casino is planned for Nov. 18-20. Two breakfasts, two dinners. $30 per day for slot play, visit to Dickerson Plantation, tour a winery, Dover Downs Speedway. $185.
A New Year’s celebration is scheduled for Brownstone’s in northern New Jersey on Wednesday, Dec. 31.The cost of $78 pays for the bus, lunch, music and dancing. Tickets will be on sale at the November meeting.

Community Calendar
A free program in movement in water is held every Tuesday at noon in a heated pool at the HRC Fitness Center. For recreational therapy, you need a doctor’s approval. Call Angela at 908-399-3097 for information or go to www.Swim-inc.org. Social hour at 1:15.You don’t have to be a HRC member.
Keep in mind the township’s Mr. Fix-It program, run by the Social Services Department. Minor home repairs can be arranged on Wednesdays between 8 and 11 a.m. for Hillsborough seniors 60 and older. Call 908-369-3880 for details.A free exercise program available to all Hillsborough seniors is held in the municipal building Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at are now 11 a.m., noon, 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. Classes are led by certified instructors. HILLSBOROUGH SENIOR CENTER
Adults age 60 and older are invited to visit the county-operated Hillsborough Senior Center at 339 South Branch Road. The center is open from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday through Friday. Its phone is 908-369-8700.
Exercise with Rose every Tuesday and Thursday, 11 a.m. The program includes games, stretches, walks, chair fitness and strength training movement. Learn to play mah jongg Wednesdays at 10 a.m.
Transportation is available.
Blood pressure screenings are held the third Tuesday of each month at 10:30 a.m. Caram (an East Indian game similar to billiards) and other games can be played every Thursday. Cards are available every day. You can flex, stretch and tone with Rose on Tuesdays and Thursdays.Enjoy lunch for a suggested donation of $1.50 or more. (Price for guests under 60 is $5.35).
