MANVILLE: Man thinks $1,000 might be missing

Police blotter report, issue of Nov. 13

Officer John Chismar said he spoke with a man on East Camplain Road at 3:32 p.m. Nov. 3 about $1,000 the man said he had in his residence, but was unable to locate. He said he would call police later if he wanted to file a complaint.
In other reports:
— Christopher Sawyer, 40, of Manville, was sought for theft after a woman said at 4:29 p.m. Nov. 3 that he had used her debit card to withdraw about $1,400 in cash. He was charged at 9:10 a.m. Nov. 8.
— William Fahey, 57, of Manville, was charged with trespassing on Norfolk Southern Railroad property at 8:18 a.m. Nov. 4. The Rescue Squad took him to Robert Wood Johnson Somerset hospital with an arm injury.
— A North 9th Avenue man said at 8:43 a.m. Nov. 4 that it appeared someone may have entered his pickup truck in his driveway sometime overnight. The change in his center console was moved, but he said he didn’t know if anything was missing.
— A woman from Lincoln Avenue reported at 1:05 p.m. Nov. 5 that her vehicle may have been egged between 9:40 p.m. Nov. 4 and 12:08 p.m. Nov. 5 while parked in front of her residence.
— A 13-year-old boy from Taylor Avenue, Hillsborough, said at 8:39 p.m. Nov. 5 that his 20-inch BMX bicycle was stolen from the high school football field while he was watching a game. Estimated value was $100.
A Huff Avenue man came to headquarters at 8:44 the next morning with a black 20-inch bicycle he found. It was the boy’s, and it was returned, police said.
— One of the administrators of the Manville community Facebook page reported at 10:43 p.m. Nov. 5 of receiving harassing messages on the site. He was advised of his rights and asked to report the incident as a matter of record.
— A North Main Street man reported parking his 1991 Nissan Sentra in the Quick Chek parking lot on Brooks Boulevard and having the front headlight broken between 6 and 6:45 p.m. Nov. 7. Police recorded it as a criminal mischief complaint.
— A South 8th Avenue woman said at 12:42 p.m. Nov. 8 that someone drove on her lawn that morning or the previous night, leaving tire marks in the grass, but making no damage. She wanted the incident on the record.
— A North 16th Avenue man turned over a wallet he found in the Bank of America parking lot at 7:24 p.m. Nov. 8. The owner was a Hillsborough man who came to get it.
— Jason Lento, 30, of Old Bridge, was charged with shoplifting from Wal-Mart on North Main Street at 4:07 p.m. Nov. 9. Total was $221.76. He also had a warrant from Manville for $500. He posted bail and was released.
