LAMBERTVILLE: Historical Society recognizes restoration

After its recent Autumn House Tour, the Lambertville Historical Society presented its prestigious Narducci Award to the principals of the Bridge Street Foundation whose efforts in preservation and restoration are considered significant.
The society’s award committee’s recommendation was unanimously adopted by the board of trustees.
The award was given to Kevin and Sherri Daugherty, of the Bridge Street Foundation, for stabilizing the structure and restoring the integrity and grandeur of the former Baptist church, now Lambertville Hall.
The windows, doors and façade of the nearly 150-year-old building were improved in a historically sensitive manner and have all contributed to an attractive enhancement of the Bridge Street landscape.
The Historical Society established the Alice Narducci Preservation awards in 1996 in honor of the founding society president who played a key role in saving the Marshall House from demolition.
The award, a bronze plaque, recognizes historical preservation of a structure’s exterior, restoration of a building to its original architectural integrity, or a combination.
