Tree lighting: Borough’s official tree will be lighted in ceremony starting at 6:30 p.m. at the South Main Street lot (formerly the gazebo lot). Rain date: Saturday, Nov. 29.

Remembrance: Thomas J. Kavanaugh VFW Post 2290 and its ladies auxiliary will hold their annual Pearl Harbor remembrance service at noon at the post at 600 Washington Ave. The public is encouraged to attend and remember those who gave their lives on the horrific day that thrust the U.S. into World War II.

Slavic dinner: St. Mary Byzantine Catholic Church holds monthly dinner, 4 to 7 p.m., St. Mary Parish Center, 1900 Brooks Blvd. $13 for adults (ages 9 and up) and $5 for children (8 and under). All-you-can-eat pirohi, stuffed cabbage, kielbasa and sauerkraut, mashed potatoes. A surprise entrée will be prepared by St. Mary’s chef John Pagano. Orders to go available. Community Christmas carol sing: The 16th annual community Christmas carol sing will be held on 7 p.m. at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 34 South Third Ave. Sing along with church’s band as it performs a repertoire of traditional Christmas carols and contemporary favorites. Admission is free for this family friendly event. Refreshments will be served. Donations of non-perishable food items will be collected for the local food bank. Bulk trash pickup: The last collection for the year was Tuesday, Nov. 18. Bulk trash pickups will resume in March.
Food pantry: The Manville Library at 100 South 10th Ave. has a collection barrel in its foyer to accept donations for local charitable pantries.

Borough Hall hours: Offices open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Mondays, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Fridays and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Thursdays.
Recreation office hours: Monday, noon to 7 p.m.; Tuesday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Wednesday, noon to 5 p.m., and Thursday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Closed Friday. The recreation information line is 908-725-9478, ext. 119.
