Commissioner meets with local officials

State Sen. Jennifer Beck and Assemblywomen Caroline Casagrande and Mary Pat Angelini (all R-Monmouth) brought state Department of Transportation (DOT) Commissioner Jamie Fox to their district to meet with local officials about transportation priorities in their towns. Eight towns from Legislative District 11 sent representatives to discuss projects and needs.

“Commissioner Fox hasn’t been at the job long this time around, but he was immediately responsive,” Beck said in a press release. “He recognized the importance of meeting with the towns to get an honest feel of the condition of New Jersey’s infrastructure and the needs of those using it. The towns that came in were truly appreciative and the commissioner’s staff was receptive and helpful.

We’ve brought commissioners in to meet in years past and it is always a success.”

“Our transportation networks are vital to our local economies and our quality of life,” Angelini said in the press release. “I appreciate Commissioner Fox taking the time to meet with our municipalities and I look forward to working with the DOT to help ensure the towns we represent are able to meet their transportation needs.”

“The municipalities in our district have road infrastructure concerns that must be addressed,” Casagrande said in the press release. “We know transportation dollars are scarce, and I appreciate Commissioner Fox meeting with the representatives from these towns to discuss the best options moving forward.”
