Rashawnn Alexander, 24, of West Fifth Street, Florence, was charged with burglar and possession of a weapon Sunday at 8:33 a.m.
Police said they were called to a residence in the 700 block of West Second Street on a report of someone kicking in the door and assaulting the resident while holding a gun.
When police arrived, the victim pointed to the man running away. The man refused to stop, police said. They saw he had a gun tucked in his waist, police said, and captured him when he ran into his residence and hide in his basement.
Police confiscated the gun used in the assault, a rifle and controlled dangerous substances in the residence, police said.
He was taken to the hospital for treatment of nonlife-threatening injuries.
He also was charged with criminal mischief, possession of a weapon by a certain person, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, aggravated assault, resisting arrest, terroristic threats, possession of a controlled dangerous substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
He was taken to the Burlington County Jail in lieu of $200,000 bail, with no 10 percent option.
