The Monmouth County Audubon Society will host field guide and naturalist George Armistead, who will present the ornithology program, “The Birds and the Birds and the Bees,” at its 8 p.m. Dec. 10 meeting at the Church of the Nativity, 180 Ridge Road, Fair Haven. The public is welcome. Admission is free.
There are 10,000 species of birds, and some have unusual breeding strategies. Armistead, who is the events coordinator for the American Birding Association, will discuss some of these breeding behaviors.
The Monmouth County Audubon Society, a chapter of the National Audubon Society, is dedicated to the enjoyment and study of nature, wildlife conservation, habitat protection and education. Meetings are held the second Wednesday of each month September through May at the Church of the Nativity. For more information, visit www.monmouthaudubon.org.
