LONG BRANCH — Members of the New Jersey Chapter of the Blue Knights International Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club participated in an annual toy run to deliver gifts to the Unterberg Children’s Hospital at Monmouth Medical Center.
The toy run took place Nov. 2 when the Blue Knights and Santa distributed gifts to pediatric patients, according to a press release. Joining the group was Glen Burtnik, local musician.
In addition to the run, each rider donated $10 to benefit the Unterberg Children’s Hospital at Monmouth Medical Center, which serves youths from newborns to adolescents.
The Blue Knights is a nonprofit fraternal organization of active and retired law enforcement officers who enjoy riding motorcycles. The organization was formed in 1974 in Bangor, Maine, and over the years became an international organization. The Blue Knights has contributed more than $17.1 million to various charities throughout the world.
