Expressing the abstract

 “Sketch” by Dawn DiCicco “Sketch” by Dawn DiCicco Members of a “Lyrical Abstract Expressionism” class are exhibiting new works at the Guild of Creative Art in Shrewsbury.

Painters whose works are featured in “Abstract Expressions” are Betty Bullivant, Shrewsbury; Dawn DiCicco and Stephanie Martel, both Red Bank; Shari Epstein, Leonardo; Mercedes Farrugia, Freehold; James Kent, who has taught the class since 2004, Oceanport; Wayne Lerman, Red Bank; Lorraine Madsen, Wall; Annette Margulies, Long Branch; Leona Shultes, Lincroft; and Karen Starrett, Ocean. The exhibit will be on view through Dec. 3 at the guild, located at 620 Broad St., Shrewsbury. Guild hours are 8 a.m.- 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday; 8 a.m.-7 p.m. Thursday; and 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday. Admission and onsite parking are free.
