State Sen. Jennifer Beck and Assemblywomen Mary Pat Angelini and Caroline Casagrande (all R-Monmouth) are partnering with Jersey Cares to collect coats for the 19th annual Jersey Cares Coat Drive, which collects and distributes winter coats to men, women and children in need throughout New Jersey.
The legislators have each designated their district offices in Red Bank, Ocean Township and Freehold as official collection sites where community members can drop off “gently used” coats.
During the past 18 years, Jersey Cares has collected, stored and distributed more than 400,000 coats to New Jersey residents through its annual drive. Companies, churches, fire departments, police stations, schools and other organizations set up sites across the state to collect coats. Volunteers then sort the donated coats and bag them for pickup and distribution to those in need.
Coat donations may be dropped off between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. through Dec. 15 at Beck’s third-floor office, 32 Monmouth St., Red Bank; Angelini’s Cobblestone Village office at 893 W. Park Ave., Ocean; or Casagrande’s office at 35 W. Main St., Freehold.
