Lustig Dance Theatre of New Brunswick will perform its second annual production of Graham Lustig’s “A Jazzy Nutcracker” at 7 p.m. Dec. 12, and 1 and 4:30 p.m. Dec. 13 at the Monroe Township High School Performing Arts Center, 200 Schoolhouse Road, Monroe.
The Christmas celebration set in the 1960s features a space-age battle scene, a skating rink and a magical night spent discovering the secrets of “Drosselmeyer’s” department store. An appearance from Santa Claus adds to the holiday spirit and completes this whimsical spin on the beloved Christmas production.
Tickets cost $30 for adults, $22 for seniors, and $15 for students and children. Groups of 15 or more can receive tickets for $27 each. Tickets are available at www.ajazzynutcracker.com.
“The Nutcracker” also features a special Santa’s Luncheon at 3 p.m. Dec. 13 with holiday treats, a visit from Santa and appearances by costumed characters from the production.
