Sunday, Oct. 19, was the 32nd annual Lambertville Autumn House Tour and — yet again — it was a great success! The House Tour is the Marshall House Museum and Lambertville Historical Society’s major annual fundraiser, and it could not be as successful without the support of our homeowners, sponsors, booklet advertisers, businesses, area artists, volunteers and the entire Lambertville community!
More than 100 volunteers turned out to docent in the homes and sites, sell tickets and provide help along the way and during months of planning. In addition, more than 60 local businesses and organizations purchased ads in our booklet to show their support.
Thanks especially to our four major 2014 House Tour sponsors: Blue Raccoon Home Design, Russ Poles, of Lisa James Otto Country Properties, Wayne Brengel of Sasco Insurance and The Bank of Princeton.
Of course, there cannot be an Autumn House Tour without the generosity of homeowners and site owners, who graciously opened their doors to more than 600 tour goers in one day! This year, we thank homeowners Yvonne and Rick Adkins, Mae Sakharov, Drew and Suzanne Gitomer, Nora and Bill Linderman, and Andrew Nowick and Paul Scoggins. Thanks, too, to owners of Lambertville Hall, the Birdhouse Center for the Arts, Bridge Street Hotel, Pittore Justice Center and City Hall for opening their doors.
Many thanks also go to the Lambertville-New Hope Ambulance and Rescue Squad for donating their parking facilities for the day and to the LINK of Hunterdon County for shuttle bus services. And, of course, kudos to the Lambertville police, emergency services and fire companies for making sure everyone was safe during the day.
This year Lambertville Historical Society repeated its invitation to area plein air artists to paint sites and scenes on the house tour. Their presence with paint brushes and easels along streets made the event even more festive. Their paintings will be auctioned the evening of Jan. 17 for the Historical Society’s third annual Plein Air Silent Auction fundraiser. These generous artists will donate a portion of the proceeds of their artwork earned at the silent auction to LHS and the Marshall House Museum fund. Be watching for more details on that event!
Once again, Lambertville’s Autumn House Tour has become an annual stronghold for our community. Thanks to all!
