The Bordentown Presbyterian Church will hold its monthly coffeehouse, Cafe 420 on Friday December 12 at 7:00pm at 420 Farnsworth Avenue, Bordentown. This month’s event will feature singer/songwriter Sharon Abbott singing traditional Christmas songs and her original Christmas songs. Jewelry made by local musician Dan Aldrich will be on sale. The traditional Christmas House Tours of decorated houses and churches in the village of Roebling will be held from 12 until 5 p.m. Tickets may be purchased in advance for $15 at www.roeblingmuseum.org or on the day of the event at either the Roebling Museum or Roebling Auditorium (7th & Main) for $20. The tour is not recommended for children under 12. The museum is an official drop-off site for U. S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program. Visitors who bring one new toy, in its original wrapper or container through Dec. 18 will receive free admission to the museum.
The tradition of celebrating Christmas in Roebling will be held free to the public from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Roebling Museum, 100 Second Ave., Roebling. Highlights include the Museum decorated with Christmas trees designed by local businesses, churches, school and social organizations, storytelling and craft making for the kids, will all be a part of the day’s festivities. Santa and Mrs. Claus will visit from 1 to 4 p.m. and hand out keepsakes to children.

Winter Solstice Celebration, Dorothea Dix Unitarian Universalist Community will host its third annual winter solstice celebration. This year’s gathering includes a discussion about the origins of gift giving and the evolution of Santa Claus. The free celebration starts at 7 p.m. at 39 Park St., Bordentown.
Sun., Dec. 21
Christmas Lessons and Carols, Dorothea Dix Unitarian Universalist Community invites the community to a Lessons and Carols Christmas service at 4 p.m. The intergenerational service will include readings of the Christmas season and favorite carols for all to sing, plus a special candle-lighting during “Silent Night.“ Background music to enjoy will start at 3:45 p.m. Free, and open to all denominations. There will be no Sunday morning service.

Bordentown Elks Lodge 2085 has bingo every Tuesday at 7:15 p.m. Doors open at 5 p.m. There is a progressive jackpot, and food is available for purchase. The lodge has sandwich night every Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. The price is $6 per person. Lodge 2085 hosts a breakfast the third Sunday of every month from 8 to 11 a.m. All proceeds benefit the Special Children’s Committee.
The Consolidated Fire Association will sponsor Bingo every Wednesday night at St. Mary’s School starting Sept. 18. The doors will open at 5:30 p.m. and the games will start at 7 p.m.

The club meets the first and third Monday of each month at 1 p.m. at the Senior Community Center on Municipal Drive. All township seniors age 55 and older are welcome.
For the 10th year, Holy Cross Lutheran Church will have youth groups for children and teens in grades K-12.
The CREW is broken into two groups. JV CREW is for children in kindergarten through second grade and Varsity CREW is for children in third grade through fifth grade. They gather twice a month to explore Christian faith through crafts, games, stories and more.

The GANG also has two groups. GANG Jr. is for young adults in sixth grade through eighth grade. GANG Sr. is for young adults in ninth grade through 12th grade. The GANG usually holds two meetings, an activity, a fundraiser and community service event a month.
The season typically starts after a mid-September kick-off and ends in June, though some summer activities are planned to keep the groups connected all year long.
