Keep an eye and ear out on the next two weekends
Two more Hillsborough fire companies will get in the spirit of the holiday this weekend and next.
Fire Company No. 3 (Woods Road) will continue its tradition of bringing Santa around its response area.
The fire truck and Santa will visit north of Hillsborough Road on Saturday, Dec. 13, and south of Hillsborough Road on Saturday, Dec. 20.
The entourage will start at 10 a.m. and is usually out until 5:30 p.m. on both days. People should listen for sirens on their street and come out to the curb to meet Santa. There’ll be candy canes for the kids and everyone is welcome to join Santa on his sled for a picture.
Hillsborough Volunteer Fire Company No. 2 will bring Santa around its response area from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Dec. 20 and 21. Have your cameras.
The company’s annual toy drive is also underway and will run through Wednesday, Dec. 17. Drop boxes have been placed at local businesses to collect new, unwrapped gifts for children. All items collected are provided to the township Department of Social Services to be distributed to local families.
Boxes are located at JK Design, The Boro Toy Shoppe, Hillsborough Racquet Ball & Fitness Club, Kohl’s, Applebee’s, Century 21, IHOP, Amwell Auto & Tire (Firestone), Stop & Shop, Staples, Provident Bank, the municipal building and Hillsborough Fire Co. No. 2.
