Police blotter report, issue of Dec. 11
A man reported he was assaulted by two men while standing in the south parking lot of the Chester House at 1 North Main St. at 10:49 p.m. Dec. 3. They ran toward Quick Chek and got into a gray Mercedes Benz, police said. The man refused to be taken to the hospital by the rescue squad, which had been dispatched.
— Manville police went to Branchburg police headquarters at 12:40 a.m. Dec. 4 to pick up and take to the county jail Michael Casserta, 39, on a $500 Manville warrant for shoplifting.
— Bridgewater police told their Manville counterparts they had arrested William Fahey, 57, a homeless man with a last known address in Manville, for simple assault and resisting arrest at 2:40 p.m. Dec. 4. He was also wanted for $1,900 in municipal warrants in Manville. Manville Municipal Court Judge Foley amended bail and released Mr. Fahey, who was taken to Robert Wood Johnson Somerset hospital.
On Dec. 5 at 11:41 p.m. police responded to Drewby’s Bar and Grill on South Main for an allegedly intoxicated Mr. Fahey, who was charged with disorderly conduct.
On Dec. 6 Mr. Fahey was taken by the rescue squad to the hospital with a leg injury after a call on North Main Street at 8:36 a.m.
— A Huff Avenue resident called police to say a silver Dodge pickup and a red Jeep Cherokee were driving in the mud between Lincoln and Boesel avenues near View Street at 2:46 p.m. Dec. 4. The vehicles fled prior to police arrival.
— Brooks Boulevard tenants said at 11:48 a.m. Friday that they heard sounds coming from the basement and believed there may be squatters there. Patrols checked the exterior and found no sign of forced entry.
— Frederick Boseman of a South Main apartment was charged with simple assault of another apartment resident in the same address at 12:54 a.m. Dec. 6 Saturday at the Manville Diner on South Main Street. He was released after being charged.
— William Farrell, 22, of Bound Brook was charged with driving while under the influence Sunday at 2:06 a.m. on Louis Street and North 13th Avenue. He was released to a friend. The car was towed.
