MONTGOMERY — As of Tuesday morning, the phones were working at the municipal building but the voicemail system, including police non-emergency, was down and expected to overnight and for an indefinite period of time.
When the township rebooted the phone system early Tuesday, the voicemail system did not reboot, according to Township Administrator Donato Nieman.
"We don’t know why," Mr. Nieman said just before noon.
Incoming and outgoing calls and emails may still be received and sent, but no voicemails may be left.
Anyone who calls an unattended phone extension will continue to get a ringing signal. If this occurs, call back and leave a message with the receptionist at 908-359-8211.
"We apologize for this inconvenience," Mr. Nieman said.
In case of emergency, always dial 9-1-1.
