MANVILLE: Boy’s bicycle found near pistol range

Police blotter, issue of Dec. 18

A black BMX Mongoose boy’s bicycle was found in a field near the pistol range off Manville Avenue on Dec. 8. The bicycle was secured and tagged and a property report was completed.
— Djeneba Konta, 25, of Newark was arrested and charged with shoplifting $240.28 worth of cosmetic merchandise from Walmart on Dec. 8. She was processed and released.
— Debbie Drake, 42, of  Somerville was arrested and charged with shoplifting $242.01 of merchandise from Walmart on Dec. 8. She was processed and released.
— A caller asked police to ask the Foxtail Lounge on South Street to turn off the music because the facility should be closed at 2:14 a.m. Dec. 9. The area was quiet when police arrived. Patrol officers spoke with an employee who said music had been on earlier for several minutes. He was advised to keep the music down.
— Hanley Murillo, 33, of  South Bound Brook was arrested on Dec. 9 and charged with burglary, theft by unlawful taking and criminal mischief for allegedly scratching and burglarizing vehicles in the parking lot of LaCasada on West Camplain Road. The damage from the scratch was estimated at $750. The value of the property taken was $649.
— A man found some prescription medication along the Norfolk Southern railroad and turned it over to police on Dec. 9.
— A South 13th Avenue resident called police at 12:38 p.m. Dec. 10 to report a stocky blond man aggressively pounded on her door. When asked to identify himself, the person did not answer and tried unsuccessfully to open the door. He left in a red SUV, possibly an Expedition, and made a right on Roosevelt. Another call came in reporting a white male of medium build was knocking on a woman’s door refusing to identify himself. He left in a red SUV. Police checked the area and were unable to locate the man.
— Megan Lynch, 29, of Middlesex was arrested and charged with shoplifting a variety of household products totaling about $60 from Walmart on Dec. 10. She was processed and released.
— A Honda Civic driven by Dale Wall, of Hillsborough, collided with a GMC truck driven by Raymond Kronmaier, of North 20th Avenue, Manville, just before 5 p.m. Dec. 10. Police said Ms. Wall was issued a summons for improperly passing. A crash report was generated.
— Mbalu Bangura, 24, of Somerset was stopped in Walmart for allegedly shoplifting $26.88 worth of merchandise on Dec. 10. The store declined to prosecute.
— A North 5th Avenue resident reported Dec. 10 that a watch valued at $2,000 was stolen from his apartment. The investigation is ongoing.
— Brian Nowak, 30, of West Camplain Road was found walking on the Norfolk Southern railroad tracks at 8:39 p.m. Dec. 11. He was arrested and charged with trespassing, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct and was taken to Robert Wood Johnson Hospital, Somerset.
— Devin Burke, 22, of Manville, was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated and possession of drug paraphernalia early Friday morning. After processing he was taken to Robert Wood Johnson Hospital, Somerset for treatment of a leg injury.
— Ronnie Fairley, a Walmart loss prevention associate, came to police headquarters Friday to report an employee theft. He alleged Kashawn Totten of Bound Brook had removed a paintball gun from its packaging and had stolen it.
— Police administered the heroin overdoes drug Narcan to a 31-year-old man from Chatham who was unresponsive at 6:12 p.m. Friday. He had a needle in his arm and was sitting in a running car in the Popeye’s parking lot. After receiving the Narcan he became alert and was taken to Robert Wood Johnson Hospital Somerset by the Manville rescue squad.
— Police responded to Dunkin Donuts at 101 S. Main St. at 7:37 a.m. Saturday because an intoxicated homeless man was yelling at customers. He was taken to Robert Wood Johnson Hospital, Somerset.
— Jamar M. Archer, 32, of Ewing was arrested and charged with theft by unlawful taking from Walmart, receiving stolen property (a vehicle), and eluding an officer on Saturday after a chase ending behind 116a Valerie Drive address. He was lodged in the Somerset County Jail in default of $30,000 bail. A 2001 Honda Odyssey was returned to its owner, Ahmed Yousef, of Somerset.
— Police were called to a N. Main Street laundry center at 6:52 p.m. Saturday. Rebecca Moore, 50, manager of the facility, said Fred Boseman, 50, was being aggressive. They were arguing about Mr. Boseman walking through the laundry shop to take out his garbage. Both parties were advised of their rights to sign complaints.
— A North 5th Avenue resident reported on Saturday that someone had taken his white and blue Nike sneakers, valued at $134, from his apartment.
