UPPER FREEHOLD — Township Committeeman Stanley Moslowski Jr. has been tapped by his fellow members of the Township Committee to serve as Upper Freehold’s mayor for 2015.
The governing body held its annual reorganization meeting on Jan. 6 at the Stone Bridge Middle School.
Committeewoman Lorisue Mount, who served as mayor in 2014, nominated Moslowski for the position. Mount, Committeeman Stephen Alexander, Committeeman Robert Faber and Committeeman Robert Frascella voted “yes,” as did Moslowski.
Moslowski joined the committee in January 2008. He served as deputy mayor in 2009 and mayor in 2010. Moslowski is beginning his eighth year on the governing body.
State Assemblyman Ron Dancer conducted the swearing-in ceremony for Moslowski.
In November, Frascella was re-elected to the committee for a three-year term. He was nominated by Mount to serve as deputy mayor for 2015 and had the support of his fellow committee members. Dancer then administered the deputy mayor’s oath to Frascella.
All five members of the Township Committee are Republicans.
Committee members were assigned to serve as liaisons to the following departments/ committees:
Moslowski will serve as liaison to administration and finance.
Frascella and Moslowski will serve as liaisons to building/construction office, and buildings and grounds.
Alexander and Moslowski will serve as liaisons to recreation.
Alexander will serve as liaison to economic development/ commercial and light industrial.
Faber and Moslowski will serve as liaisons to public works.
Mount and Alexander will serve as liaisons to public safety.
Faber and Frascella will serve as liaisons to open space.
Faber will serve as liaison to the Monmouth County Agricultural Board.
Dennis Collins was reappointed as township attorney, and Patrick Jeffery of T&M Associates was reappointed as township engineer.
Moslowski, Faber, Jim Rosenbauer, Richard Stern, Douglas Raynor and Jeff Ferrier were appointed to the Planning Board.
Roger Gravatt, Alfred Mottola and Anthony Garaguso were appointed to the Zoning Board of Adjustment.
Other appointments for 2015 included Richard Kelly, prosecutor; Andrew Bayer, affordable housing attorney; and Christopher Koutsouris, public defender.
In other business, the committee announced the winners of the 2014 Holiday Lighting Contest.
Betty Tindall, assistant to the municipal clerk, assisted with the judging of the contest. The following are the winners: Sharon and Ernest Coluccio, Davis Station Road; Jeff Meyers, Burlington Path Road; and J.L. Automotive and Towing, Route 539.
