A workshop on “Self-Regulated Learners: Developing Lifelong Learning Skills for Success” will be held by The South Brunswick Parent Academy from 7-8:30 p.m. at Crossroads North Middle School, 635 Georges Road. Attendees will learn about the role of self-regulation in our children’s education and its importance in developing lifelong learning skills: taking control of and evaluating learning and behavior, both in and out of the classroom.

A lecture on Winter Emergencies will be held at the South Brunswick Senior Center, located in the Municipal Complex, Route 522, by Princeton HealthCare System from 10:45 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Join Barbara Vaning, MHA, EMT Instructor and member of Princeton HealthCare System’s Community Education and Outreach Program, who will discuss surviving the winter while in your house, in your car and while you are outside.
“The Giver” will be screened at 12:30 p.m. at the South Brunswick Senior Center, located in the Municipal Complex, Route 522. A workshop called “Google Drive: Going Beyond Pencil and Paper” will be held by The South Brunswick Parent Academy from 7-8:30 p.m. at Crossroads North Middle School, 635 Georges Road. It is an introduction to Google Drive and the South Brunswick approach to this technology, opening the door to the skills necessary for college and career readiness.

The annual Valentine Party at the South Brunswick Senior Center, located in the Municipal Complex, Route 522, will be held at 11:45 a.m. Live musical entertainment by G. Winston. Tickets are $2 and may be purchased in the senior center office until Feb. 6. Crafts, refreshments, music and fun. There will be a King and Queen Crowning event. This musical biography traces the friendship of four boys from the Garden State who became known as the musical group “The Four Seasons.” Director: Clint Eastwood. Learn about the concepts outlined in Susan Cain’s book (of the same name) and how you can utilize this knowledge to support or empower an introverted child (or yourself) for greater success in school and life.

An art lecture about Louise Nevelson, an American sculptor known for her monumental, monochromatic, wooden wall pieces and outdoor sculptures, will be held at 12:30 p.m. at the South Brunswick Senior Center, located in the Municipal Complex, Route 522. A workshop called “Financial Literacy: It’s About Dollars and Sense!” will be held by The South Brunswick Parent Academy from 7-8:30 p.m. at Crossroads North Middle School, 635 Georges Road. It will will highlight how K-12 students are taught personal finance at different levels including prioritizing financial goals, developing spending plans, obtaining financial security, distinguishing between wealth and income, and calculating the time value of money.

St. Augustine of Canterbury Columbiettes will host a Spring Fashion Show from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at St Augustine of Canterbury’s School, 45 Henderson Road, Kendall Park.
