Mayor David DelVecchio has been appointed to the legislative committee of the N.J. State League of Municipalities for 2015. The committee helps the nonpartisan organization formulate responses to state legislative proposals that may impact municipalities and taxpayers.
“I am honored and proud to serve alongside my fellow mayors from across the state, and from both parties, on this important committee,” said Mr. DelVecchio.
“Proposals coming from the Statehouse may have an impact not only on how our communities operate, but also on our individual taxpayers. Many times, while the intentions of our lawmakers are good, there may be unintended impacts that could hurt communities.
“As part of this committee, we will help ensure better laws that truly move our communities and our state forward.”
Mr. DelVecchio is a past president of the League of Municipalities. He is serving his eighth term as the mayor of Lambertville.
“Few mayors bring the knowledge of the political process and its impacts on our municipalities that Dave does,” said League President and Piscataway Mayor Brian Wahler.
“I am pleased that he will continue to serve the League, his fellow municipal officials, and the residents of the state in this important role.”
