Theresa F. Link, 94, devoted mother, daughter and spouse, also known as Trish, Tess, Mama Link and Grandma Dear, went to her heavenly Father on Jan. 22, 2015.
She met the love of her life, Michael J. Link, in grade school. She attended college in Bristol, Virginia, and eloped in Warrenton, Virginia, on May 20, 1940. Mike and Trish moved from New Jersey to Daytona, Florida, in 1962. Mike started his own heating and air conditioning company, which became the family business, Mechanical Appliances and Consumer Discount Warehouse, in Daytona Beach, with his two eldest sons. Trish was a fabulous homemaker and also the “assistant bookkeeper” in the family business.
Trish joined her daughter at Link Chiropractic Clinic, where she was the receptionist and “doctor number one” until she retired in 1992.
She is predeceased by her parents, Manning Patrick and Teresa M. Patrick Szabo, of Patrick’s Corner, New Jersey, and her beloved husband, Mike.
Trish was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church since 1973.
Left to cherish her memories are her three sons, Michael P. Link (Gail); Manning P. Link (Kathy); and Terrence P. Link (Brenda); and her daughter, Dr. Kathleen Link, and her spouse, Dan Hawkins. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. The family requests no flowers or food, but perhaps a donation to one’s favorite charity. They also request that you never miss an opportunity to hug a loved one and to “Give Roses to the Living” (they appreciate them much more).
