EAST WINDSOR: Coran named fire chief

EAST WINDSOR — For the second consecutive year, Eric Coran has been elected to serve as chief of East Windsor Volunteer Fire Co. No. 2, according to a press release from the township.
The oath of office was administered to Chief Coran by East Windsor Mayor Janice S. Mironov at the fire department’s annual installation dinner, according to the release.
Company 2 serves the eastern half of the township and is easily recognized by their bright yellow fire trucks.
“It’s a great feeling to be able to help people, especially knowing I can protect the town that my family and friends live in,” said Chief Coran, who has been a member of the fire company for the past 19 years.
He joined first as a junior firefighter, working his way through the ranks to ultimately wear the white hat.
“It’s been a lifetime dream for me to become chief, and I’m flattered that my department continues to put its faith in me.”
Chief Coran served as lieutenant for three years and deputy chief for seven years.
He lives in East Windsor with his wife, daughter and two Golden Retrievers.
Also sworn in by Mayor Mironov at the ceremony were Deputy Chief Steve Genthe, Capt. Michael Trivisonno and Lt. Pat Brunetti.
