David Friedrich, principal, Hopewell Elementary School
The following was written to Hopewell Elementary School parents:
Each month, our Student Council conceives and hosts a special school spirit event at Hopewell Elementary School.
This month, children are invited to dress up as their favorite book character on Friday (Feb. 27). This event will coincide with our Book Fair week.
On Feb. 27, families also will be invited to make a donation to support a very special project. We are proud to be partnering with the Hopewell Valley’s Special Education PTO to make our playground universally accessible to all children. While our playground meets the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), installing a rubberized surface would give physically disabled children full access to the playgrounds.
A jar will be placed in the main office on Feb. 27. One hundred percent of the monies collected on this day will support the purchase and installation of a new playground surface at Hopewell Elementary School. Any and all donations are welcome.
