Hopewell Township police Lt. Christopher H. Kascik reported:
— On Feb. 23, Officer James Klesney completed an investigation that began on Jan. 16. Based on his investigation an arrest warrant has been issued for Dieesha D. Johnson, 36, of Chestnut Avenue, Trenton.
She is charged with forgery and theft after she cashed a fraudulent check at a local bank in the amount of $892.
Once she is taken into custody, her case will be forwarded to the Mercer County prosecutor’s office.
— On Feb. 27, a resident of Pleasant Valley Road called to report that sometime during the day someone broke a window and attempted to enter the residence.
Officer Robert Voorhees and Detective Louis Vastola went to the residence and spoke with the victim.
Although the window was broken, it is believed no one entered the residence. No items were reported stolen.
The investigation is ongoing.
— On Feb. 24, Officer George Peterson was on patrol on Route 31 near the Pennington Circle. He stopped the driver of a 2012 Toyota for a motor vehicle violation (tailgating). While speaking with the driver, identified as Brenden D. Craddock, 20, of Angus Road, Flemington, the officer smelled alcohol on his breath and person.
After roadside sobriety testing he was placed under arrest for DWI and DWI underage. He was transported to police headquarters, processed and released to a friend. He was cited for DWI, DWI underage, DWI in a school zone, reckless driving, tailgating and failure to maintain lane. His case will be heard in Municipal Court.
— On March 1 at 9 a.m., Officer Joseph Maccaquano went to the area of the Pennington Circle to check out a report of a motor vehicle crash. He located a 2013 Hyundai in the lot of a business on the circle. While speaking with the driver, identified as Todd M. Coyer, 41, of Vista Drive, Princeton, the officer smelled alcohol on his breath and person.
After roadside sobriety testing, Mr. Coyer was transported to police headquarters. He was processed and released to a friend after being cited for DWI, reckless driving, failure to report an accident, leaving the scene of an accident, and driving an unregistered vehicle. His case will be heard in Municipal Court.
— On Feb. 28 at 8:13 p.m., Officer Klesney was sent to investigate an erratic driver call on Route 31 near the Pennington Circle. He stopped the driver of a 2003 Mitsubishi for a motor vehicle violation (weaving) and spoke with the driver, identified as Carlos R. Aguilar, 22, of Washington Road, Princeton.
While speaking with him, the officer smelled alcohol on his breath and person. After roadside sobriety testing, he was transported to police headquarters, processed and released to a friend after being cited for DWI, reckless driving, driving without a license, disregarding of marked traffic lanes and possession of an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle. His case will be heard in Municipal Court.
