AT THE LIBRARIES: March 12, 2015

   The Robbinsville branch of the Mercer County Library System has scheduled adult and children’s programs in March.
   Volunteers from AARP will offer tax help from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Wednesdays, March 18 and 25; and April 1, 8 and 15.
   Bring last year’s completed forms. Appointments are required; to register, call 609-259-2150.
   ”Toddler Storytime” is a half-hour program for children, ages 2 and 3, accompanied by an adult, Tuesdays at 10 a.m., Wednesdays at 10 a.m. and 11 a.m., or Thursdays at 10 a.m.
   ”Preschool Storytime” is a half-hour program for children, ages 4 and 5, Mondays at 2 p.m. or Thursdays at 11 a.m. Classes run through the week of April 6.
   Looking for a way to spend an afternoon?
   Come to “An Afternoon at the Movies” at 1:30 p.m. Thursdays at the Robbinsville Branch of the Mercer County Library System.
   March 12, “Gone Girl” will be shown, a film about a wife who has gone missing. Under pressure from the police and a growing media frenzy, her husband’s portrait of a blissful union begins to crumble. It stars Ben Affleck and Rosamund Pike.
   March 26, “The Theory of Everything” will be shown, a film starring Eddie Redmayne as celebrated scientist Stephen Hawking, who wins the heart of Jane (Felicity Jones). Hawking is diagnosed with ALS, and he becomes less and less able to control his own body.

   Meet artist D.J. Haslett from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 12, in the library’s community room.
   Mr. Haslett will be available to discuss his works, his views on art and his insights into starting a new career in middle age. Light refreshments will be served.
   This is a drop-in program; no registration is necessary.

   Those planning to sell their home this year should come to “Sell Your Home in 2015: Setting the Stage — Home Staging Basics” at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 28.
   Christine Madera, a licensed New Jersey Realtor, will present insights, tips and tricks to prepare a home for sale. All are welcome to this second part of a two-part program; those who did not attend Part I may still attend.

   Many people don’t realize that most of Ellis Island is located in the Garden State.
   Come to “Ellis Island: The New Jersey Side” at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 14, to find out how New Jersey and New York came to share the land and learn about the little hospital there that helped more than a million ancestors as they entered the United States.
   It will be presented by Sue Kaufmann, writer and publisher of “Hidden New Jersey” (www.hiddennj.com).

   Sing Along with Miss Amy will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 13.
   This music program is for children of all ages, accompanied by an adult. Online registration begins Feb. 27.
   Storytime with STEAM will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 14; online registration begins Feb. 28.

   School-age children will enjoy science experiments and crafts conducted by Girl Scout Cadette Troop No. 70538 under the supervision of library staff. This is for grades K-three.
   Drop in for a Creation Station from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, March 14, from 10 am to 3 p.m.
   Children of all ages accompanied by an adult are invited to create special crafts with the materials provided. Registration is not required.
   Kids’ Music Round will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 20.
   This is a music and movement class for children, 6 months and up, accompanied by an adult. Online registration begins March 6.
   Read with Rocco the Therapy Dog 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, March 21 (registration begins March 7) and 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 31 (registration begins March 17).
   Rocco is a local reading therapy dog who loves listening to stories. Children in grades K-five may sign up for one 15-minute session with Rocco and his owner, Alan. Arrive a few minutes before the assigned time and have a book picked out to read aloud to Rocco.
