MCAR raises funds and awareness in the fight against hunger

The Monmouth County Association of Realtors recently completed its yearlong initiative to collect nonperishable food and monetary donations for The Foodbank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties. The Monmouth County Association of Realtors members donated and collected money at various events throughout the year and presented a check to the Foodbank for $4,663.80.

“Fighting hunger in our community is an ongoing effort that our local Realtors have embraced,” said MCAR President Robert White. “We salute those who have helped us address the issue of hunger and the growing need for support of our local food bank.”

The $4,663.80 donation will provide the Foodbank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties with more than 13,000 meals and help them to support their network of more than 300 programs in both counties.

The Monmouth County Association of Realtors, provider of the Monmouth/Ocean Multiple Listing Service (MOMLS), is a trade association serving 6,500 Realtors and Realtor associates and more than 9,000 Monmouth/Ocean Multiple Listing Service users. The Monmouth/Ocean Multiple Listing Service works as a clearinghouse through which more than 900 local real estate firms exchange information on properties they have listed for sale. Together, members participate in about 40,000 real estate transactions every year. For more information, visit www.momls.com.
