Mesunga McCree, 42, and Tyrone Bridges, 50, both of Newark, were charged with shoplifting, possession of an anti-shoplifting device and burglar tools for taking clothing worth $3,195 from Lord & Taylor at the Quaker Bridge Mall at 12:55 p.m. March 17. They were observed entering the denim department and stuffing clothing into two empty gift bags. Confronted by a loss prevention officer, Mr. Bridges allegedly dumped the clothing on the floor. They were taken to the Mercer County Corrections Center outstanding warrants, where bail was set at $11,000 with the 10-percent option.
Someone stole 30 pool cues, worth a combined $24,000, from a Bearfort Way residence between 3:30 p.m. and 4:45 p.m. March 3. One of the residents called the Police Department at 4:25 p.m. March 17 to report that there might have been a problem with the door lock. There were no signs of forced entry.
Chancey Colon, 24, of Somerset, was charged with driving under the influence, reckless driving and failure to maintain his lane at 12:51 a.m. March 18, after a police officer observed him driving erratically on Brunswick Pike.
A thief stole copper piping from an outdoor refrigerator unit belonging to King Foods at the Trenton Farmers Market on Spruce Street between 6 p.m. March 14 and 6:30 a.m. March 19. An employee discovered the theft after entering the freezer and noticing that it was warm.
Mehzabin Pochara, 45, of Harris Court, was charged with shoplifting for allegedly taking an assortment of women’s clothing, lingerie and jewelry from J.C. Penney at the Quaker Bridge Mall at 1:40 p.m. March 19. The items were valued a combined $598.
A .38-caliber Colt revolver was reported stolen from the bedroom of a Reeder Avenue residence sometime between 1:30 p.m. and 1:45 p.m. March 19. There were no signs of forced entry.
Christine Emerson, 64, of Trenton, was charged with driving under the influence, driving under the influence in a school zone, reckless driving and failure to stop for an emergency vehicle after a police officer observed that she was driving her car without its headlights on at 7:27 p.m. March 21. She was stopped on Indiana Avenue.
Sarah Morison, 19, of Chatsworth was charged with possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia (a glass pipe) after she was observed in a car parked in the parking lot at the Quaker Bridge Mall at 12:09 a.m. March 23.
Two shoplifters escaped with six sets of Philips Sonicare electric toothbrushes, valued at a combined $1,278.64, from the CVS drugstore on Brunswick Pike at 1:10 p.m. March 23. An employee saw the two men enter the store and then split up. One man put some Philips Sonicare electric toothbrushes in a CVS bag that he brought with him into the store. When the employee confronted him, he dropped the bag and fled. A check of the shelves showed that six electric toothbrushes were unaccounted for.
Cast iron radiators, valued at $2,700 for scrap metal purposes, were removed from a house on Princeton Avenue that is undergoing renovations sometime between 10 p.m. March 22 and 12:30 p.m. March 23. The thieves broke the door to the house to gain entry.
