SOMERSET COUNTY: Library’s PR, marketing wins an industry award

The Public Relations and Marketing Department of the Somerset County Library System will receive a New Jersey Library Association public relations and marketing award in the category of information literature.
The award is in recognition of the promotion and materials created for “A Novel November,” an initiative during National Novel Writing Month in 2014. Submissions were judged on effectiveness of message for target audience, originality and creativity of design, and aesthetic appeal.
The department will be recognized Tuesday, April 21, at a NJLA awards reception during the group’s annual conference at Ocean Place Resort & Spa in Long Branch.
“A Novel November” was made possible, in part, by a grant from the N.J. State Council on the Arts/Department of State, a partner agency of the National Endowment for the Arts, through funds administered by the Somerset County Cultural & Heritage Commission through the State/County Partnership Local Arts Grant Program. Additional funding was provided by the Friends of the Bridgewater Library.
Somerset County Library System of New Jersey has 10 branches, including ones in Hillsborough, Manville and Rocky Hill. There are county reading stations in Branchburg and Washington Valley.
