Scenic bicycle tour slated for May 2

The Central Jersey Bicycle Club will hold its 31st annual Farmlands Tour on May 2. The tour will begin and end at Brookdale Community College, Lincroft.

Participant registration will begin at 7 a.m. on the day of the Farmlands Tour, which will weave through scenic locations, including Colts Neck, Freehold, East Windsor and Bordentown.

Proceeds will benefit Habitat for Humanity, a nonprofit organization that brings people together to build homes and communities.

The family-friendly event has marked routes in a variety of distances ranging from 18 to 100 miles.

The bicycle club will provide snacks, energy drinks and water, and assistance for riders if necessary. All riders travel at their own pace, with all support services concluding at 6 p.m. for participants.

Preregistration at $35 for adults and $10 for children under age 18 runs through April 15 and includes an event T-shirt and a water bottle. Registration will be $40 for adults and $10 for children on the day of event.
