Diabetes workshops offered for six weeks

Healthcare Quality Strategies, a member of the Quality Insights Quality Innovation Network, will partner with the South Brunswick Public Library to provide free diabetes education as part of the Everyone with Diabetes Counts (EDC) program.

The workshops, created by the Stanford School of Medicine, help individuals take control of their diabetes and change their life. Participants will learn about diabetes and its risks; the role of diet and exercise; how to deal with pain, fatigue and depression; how to effectively communicate with health care providers; managing medications; the importance of doctor exams; and more.

The six-week workshop series will be offered 1-3:30 p.m. Mondays, April 27 to June 8 — except for Memorial Day, May 25 — at the South Brunswick Public Library, 110 Kingston Lane, Monmouth Junction.

Admission is free. To register, contact Karen Hale at 732-238-5570, ext. 2032 or khale@hqsi.org.
