HOWELL — Three Howell residents have been charged with heroin distribution following an investigation of drug-related activity in the Ramtown section of the municipality.
At 4 p.m. April 9, members of the Howell Police Department’s Crime Suppression Unit executed search warrants on three vehicles and three residences, police said. The searches were carried out in conjunction with an investigation that focused on heroin distribution in Ramtown.
The lead officers in the investigation were Eric Encarnacion and T.J. Hurley. Police said the searches culminated in the arrest of Andrew Simmons, 22, Leighanne Ordner, 20, and Carlos Johnson, 20, all of Howell.
Police allege that Simmons, Ordner and Johnson were involved in the distribution of heroin and were the subject of numerous complaints the Police Department received from area residents.
According to police, more than 60 bags of heroin, Molly, marijuana, alprazolam (Xanax), assorted prescription medications, hypodermic syringes, digital scales, cash and other paraphernalia were seized during the searches.
Encarnacion and Hurley were assisted in the investigation by Lt. Thomas Rizzo, Detective Nancy Carroll, Detective Chris Nagy, Patrolman Michael Pavlick, Patrolman Nicholas Bondarew and K9 Jago, Patrolman Ryan Richards, Patrolman Vincent Bonner, Patrolman Carl Vella and Patrolman Ryan Hurley.
