On March 14, the Schafer School of Gymnastics boys team won the New Jersey State Championship meet in Colts Neck.
Local resident Patrick Stover won the both the high bar and parallel bars, while placing fourth in the overall competition in the 10-plus age group.
Locals Landon Schafer and Jake O’Connell also placed, with Shafer taking 10th on rings, 11th on vault and parallel bars and eighth overall for his age group. O’Connell competed at level 4 and took blue ribbons in five of his six events and in the overall Level 4 competition.
Justin Gazzillo placed ninth on Rings, 12th on vault and 10th in the state for his age group. The level 5 boys have qualified to attend regionals in Pennsylvania this month.
