Mother and daughter injured in accident on Oak Tree Road

EDISON — A mother and daughter remained hospitalized Monday after suffering serious injuries when they were struck by a car on Oak Tree Road, according to police.

Sunder Kumar, 56, of Iselin, was the driver whose car hit Kishwer Danobano and her daughter, Saira Mahnood — both township residents — at 7:47 p.m. April 11, Edison Police Lt. Joseph Perrotte said.

According to police, Kumar was traveling westbound along Oak Tree Road and told police he saw the two pedestrians on the side of the road who then ran out in front of his vehicle.

Both women were in critical but stable condition, Perrotte said.
