The community is invited to an Empty Bowls event to benefit the Freehold Area Open Door Food Pantry and Feed All God’s Children Soup Kitchen, two organizations working to end hunger and food insecurity in Freehold Borough. The event will take place noon to 3 p.m. May 9 at St. Peter’s Parish House, 31 Throckmorton St., Freehold. There is a $15 minimum donation. Guests will be served a meal of soup and bread, and will choose a handcrafted bowl made by local students and area artists.
