New Egypt Day set for May 9

PLUMSTED — A day of family-friendly activities is on tap for New Egypt Day, which will take place in downtown New Egypt on May 9.

Activities for people of all ages will be held at Oakford Lake Park and the Presbyterian Church grounds on Front Street. New Egypt Day will run 11 a.m.-4 p.m.

Throughout the day, guests will be able to taste a variety of food, purchase items from vendors and listen to live music. There will be face painting, a petting zoo, music and more.

New Egypt Day is sponsored by Main Street New Egypt and Plumsted Township.

A grant from the Ocean County Cultural Heritage Commission, which is backed by funding from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts, also supports the event.

There is no cost to attend New Egypt Day.

Wristbands for unlimited access to children’s activities will be available for $6. Wristbands may be purchased through the MOMS Club of New Egypt.
