Parade participants sought

JACKSON — Organizers of Jackson’s Memorial Day parade are reaching out to the community and asking any individual or group that wishes to take part in the May 25 event to contact them by May 22.

Anyone who is interested in participating in the parade or who wants to purchase flowers to be placed at the township’s veterans memorial may send an email to [email protected].

The 56th annual Memorial Day parade and memorial services will be hosted by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4703 and sponsored by the Jackson Policemen’s Benevolent Association Local 168.

Parade participants will line up at 9 a.m. May 25 at Jackson Memorial High School, Don Connor Boulevard. The event is expected to begin at 10 a.m.

The parade will travel on Don Connor Boulevard to West Veterans Highway and end at the Jackson Justice Complex.

Immediately following the parade, a memorial service to honor those individuals who died in the service of the nation will take place at the veterans monument in the Jackson Justice Complex.

A picnic will be held at the VFW post, 54 Magnolia Drive, following the parade and memorial service.
