The Aging in Place Partnership’s annual Transportation Summit will be held 9 a.m.-2:45 p.m. May 13 at the public works building in the South Brunswick Municipal Complex, Route 522 West, Monmouth Junction. The summit will bring individuals in need of transportation together with service providers from government and nonprofits from Mercer, Middlesex and Somerset counties.
Morning topics include “Planning for a Seamless Transit Service for the Tri- County Areas of Mercer, Middlesex and Somerset”; “Integration of Coordinated Human Service and Transportation Plans Into Existing Local, State and Regional Planning Processes”; “Strategies for Bringing Non-Traditional Partners to the Table”; and “Creating New Partnerships.”
Afternoon visioning workshops will generate next steps, timelines and responsibilities, and discuss the learning and technical assistance opportunities for planning and policy, showcase how operational issues are currently addressed, and introduce innovative solutions.
Keynote speaker Steve Fittante, the director of local programs for NJ Transit, will discuss “Ideas to Ignite the Discussions.”
