FREEHOLD TOWNSHIP — The Freehold Township Democratic Club is sponsoring an essay contest that is open to all high school students who reside in Freehold Township.
The essay topic is “The Role of Immigration in Our Community.” The contest will award $300, $200 and $100 for first, second and third place, respectively.
Essays must be a minimum length of 750 words and no more than 1,000 words; written in English; and must be the original work of the entrant. Essays will be judged on style, content and originality.
Entrants may submit their essays to [email protected] or to Freehold Democratic Club, P.O. Box 6044, Freehold, NJ 07728.
Only one entry per student will be permitted, and all submissions will become the property of the Freehold Township Democratic Club. The club may post the essay writer’s name, grade and school on its website, as well as the content of the essay in whole or in part, according to a press release.
Entries must be submitted by midnight May 25. Winners will be notified by email and letter, and the cash prizes will be distributed on June 23 at the club’s monthly meeting.

No entries will be accepted without a release signed by a parent or legal guardian of the student. Immediate family members of Freehold Township Democratic Club members are not eligible to participate.
