 The Manalapan High School SADD chapter will hold a car wash from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 23 at Applebee’s, 55 Route 9, Manalapan. All proceeds will benefit SADD chapter events to raise awareness for responsible decision-making.

 The Stomp the Monster 5K Run and Festival will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 7 at the Marlboro Recreation Community Center, Marlboro. Tickets are $30 for the 5K run; $20 for the health walk; and $15 for the kids’ stomp. The race helps support Stomp the Monster, which assists cancer patients and their families with needs such as food, transportation to treatments, gas, assistance with bills and child care.  The Monmouth County Retired Educators Association will meet at 11 a.m. June 9 at the Spring Lake Manor, Spring Lake. Members are asked to bring a nonperishable donation for a local food bank.  The Shrewsbury Chorale will host “Cocktails with Cole Porter,” a gift auction fundraiser with dining, entertainment and prizes, at 5:30 p.m. June 16 at St. George’s Greek Orthodox Church, Ocean Township.  The Monmouth County Audubon Society will host a summer evening bird walk at 6 p.m. June 11. Participants should meet in the parking lot of the old Sandy Hook visitors center. The trip is open to members and nonmembers of the Audubon Society, and participation is free. Participants should bring binoculars and field guides, and dress appropriately for the weather, including clothing suitable for rain if the forecast is questionable. Insect repellent is recommended.  The Knights of Columbus will hold its monthly breakfast buffet 8 a.m. to noon on May 24 at Council Hall, 70 E. Main St., Freehold. The breakfast buffet includes assorted cold cereal, oatmeal, scrambled eggs, French toast, pancakes, sausage, ham, kielbasa, potatoes, fruit salad, bagels, rolls, toast, coffee, tea and juice.  The Performing Arts Ensemble (PAE) will hold open auditions for its upcoming summer performances. PAE is looking for boys and girls ages 4-12, teen and young adult point dancers, male actors, gymnasts and dancers of all kinds for its production of “The Wizard of Oz” and other shows. Auditions will be held at 11 a.m. May 31 and June 7, 5 p.m. May 28 and June 4, and 6 p.m. May 29 and June 5. All auditions will be held at 10 Mechanic St., Red Bank, behind Char Steakhouse. The audition is free and open to everyone of all levels. The rehearsal schedule will be light and flexible. Costumes will be provided.  The Jewish Heritage Museum of Monmouth County will host the National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene Troupe in “Makht a Tsimes” (“Make a Fuss”) at 2 p.m. May 31. This event will be held at the Freehold Jewish Center, 59 Broad St., Freehold. This 90-minute musical revue will feature new and classic Yiddish comedy and music performed in Yiddish with English translation subtitles.
