The Most Rev. Paul G. Bootkoski, bishop of the Diocese of Metuchen, will celebrate a Memorial Day Mass at 10 a.m. May 25 at Resurrection Cemetery, Hoes Lane, Piscataway. At the same time, the Rev. Msgr. William Benwell, diocesan vicar general, will celebrate Mass at Holy Cross Cemetery, Cranbury South River Road, Jamesburg. A patriotic program will follow.
The Cemeteries Office is seeking veterans and active military personnel to participate in the Masses as wreath bearers, readers and gift bearers. Following Mass, there will be a wreath-laying ceremony, which will include the playing of “Taps.”
