The 2015 Valerie Fund Walk & JAG Physical Therapy 5K Run on June 13 will mark the 10th time that supporters come together to recognize children with cancer and blood disorders.
In 2001, Anthony Vallejo was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Anthony continued to be cancer-free for nine years until last May, when the leukemia came back. He also tested positive for the Philadelphia chromosome (PH+).
Now, at age 24, Vallejo has continued treatments with the Valerie Fund. His team’s goal is to raise $3,000 during the event.
The 5K race begins at 8:30 a.m., preceded by registration at 7 a.m. The cost is $35. The starting line as the corner of Lakeside Avenue and Bloomfield Avenue in Verona Park, Verona.
Registration for the walk begins at 8:30 a.m. The opening ceremony is at 9:30 a.m., followed by the walk at 10 a.m. Registration is $25.
