The Hopewell Valley Soccer Association recently partnered with Hopewell Physical Therapy to purchase soccer balls from an Afghan organization called DOSTI.
DOSTIi, meaning “friendship” in Dari, is a joint venture started by two Afghan women that produces high quality hand-stitched soccer balls in Afghanistan.
DOSTI is a project of the award-winning organization Bpeace, a non-profit network of business volunteers who work with entrepreneurs in violence-affected communities throughout the world to scale their businesses, create significant employment opportunities and expand the economic power of women.
Tom Bartolino, owner of Hopewell Physical Therapy, contacted HVSA with the idea which stemmed from his daughter, Allison, a former player in HVSA and current Bpeace volunteer.
