HOWELL — With summer arriving on June 21, the Howell Senior Center is filling its calendar with special events.

The senior center is in the former municipal complex on Preventorium Road.

“We have a list of events coming up, with some that require preregistration,” Director of Senior Services Melanie Decker said. “To have full access to our events, people should check our newsletter online at the township’s website.”

Seniors will be able to make their own jewelry in a class to be held at 1 p.m. June 16 and 18. Registration is required, according to Decker.

State Sen. Robert Singer (R-Monmouth and Ocean) will visit the senior center at 10:30 a.m. June 19 for a Bingo and pizza party.

Seniors will be able to meet with representatives of South Jersey Legal Services from 1-3 p.m. June 25.

Line dancing will be offered at 1 p.m. June 12. For those who enjoy a more sedentary activity, Bingo will be offered at the Brandywine Senior Living Center, 100 Meridian Place, Howell, on July 2.

On July 10, seniors can celebrate America’s independence with an Independence Day party at the senior center.

“All registration dates are listed in the newsletter for the community’s convenience,” Decker said.
