Freehold Township High School’s slugging catcher Joe Silvestrone will continue his baseball career at Wagner College. The Patriots’ senior recently made his commitment to the Staten Island college.

While leading the Patriots to the Shore Conference and NJSIAA Central Jersey Group IV tournaments this past spring, Silvestrone set a Freehold Township single-season home run record with nine blasts.

Casey Wall of Colts Neck, a sophomore at Lebanon Valley College in Pennsylvania, earned Commonwealth All-Conference Honorable Mention this year.

Wall, who was named the CC Pitcher of the Week during the season, went 3-3 with a 3.02 ERA. He led the team in innings pitched (40.1) and strikeouts (33).

The 6-foot-5 right-hander is a graduate of Colts Neck High School, where he lettered in football, basketball and baseball. He helped the Cougars win the Shore Conference B North Division title in 2012.
