– Deep Cut Gardens to host Daylily Day

MIDDLETOWN — Daylily Day will be held from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. June 27 at Deep Cut Gardens, 152 Red Hill Road.

Area residents are invited to visit Deep Cut Gardens and enjoy an assortment of daylilies. Besides colorful displays, expert daylily growers will be on hand to discuss this hardy flower and give horticultural advice.

The event is being presented by the Monmouth County Park System and the Garden State Daylily Growers.

Deep Cut Gardens is the Monmouth County Park System’s site dedicated to the home gardener. The 54 acres of gardens and greenhouses are planned as a living catalog of cultivated and native plant materials to be observed through the seasons.

– FirstLight Home Care of Eastern Monmouth will celebrate its grand opening 4-8 p.m. June 25 at its office at 18 Kings Highway, Middletown. The business is owned and operated by longtime local residents Tania and Patrick Mallon.

Visitors can enjoy refreshments, hors d’oeuvres and a chance at winning some free giveaways. The FoodBank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties will be in attendance to raise awareness for its cause.
